How do I best reach out to people to share a story?

The best place to share is along with any information about the funeral/memorial service/celebration of life. But you can just as easily share your link over email, social media, and text message. Once you purchase your Book of Stories, we’ll send you a virtual toolkit full of story prompts, helpful pdfs, and ways to collect stories.


What if I need more than 4 weeks to collect Stories?

Just send us an email at stories@forcedjoyproject.com and we can extend your time! However, in our experience, most people do best on a timeline. Extending time doesn't always mean more stories. It’s best to encourage people to submit within the four week timeframe. Don’t worry, we’ll help with reminder emails!


What if I need Less than 4 weeks to Collect stories?

For all our A+ students who finish early, send us an email at stories@forcedjoyproject.com at any point in the process and we can close the submission link. We are happy to work with you to accommodate the timeline that best fits your needs.


What will my book look like? 

Each book is 6” x 8.5” and is made with a linen cover and gold embossed spine. It also comes with a protective dust jacket.


How long will it take for my book to arrive?

It all depends on how quickly stories are captured. We suggest a 4 week window for submissions and then it takes us about 2-4 weeks to complete your book and ship it out!


Will my Story submission be edited?

Nope! Stories are personal - and we don’t know when particular spelling, use of language, or lingo is intentional or a mistake! Don’t stress over every minor detail - the story itself is more important than any grammatical errors. But be sure to proofread your work! The story you submit is how it will appear in the book.


Why can’t I add photos?

We are currently working on the possibility of adding photos, but when asking for submissions from so many different sources, it is impossible to control the standard quality of the photos. Until we can figure out the best way to offer this, there are MANY great photo sharing sites and albums that exist and would make an excellent companion book for your Book of Stories. Our favorite is Artifact Uprising.


Can I get a digital version of the book?

We are working on creating a digital version as an add on option. Stay tuned for this possibility!


Is there a minimum number of stories needed?

We must receive a minimum of 20 stories in order to create a book. If we don’t receive the minimum, you will have the option for a refund or to extend your time to collect more stories. If after 2 extensions, we still do not reach the minimum, you will be refunded.


Is there a maximum number of stories needed?

The maximum number of stories received is 200. If you go beyond that amount, there will be an extra charge or you will have the option to purchase a second volume. We will be in touch with your options as you approach the maximum amount!


How do I know how many stories have been submitted?

There will be a story counter on your submission page, which will be updated daily so you can keep track of your progress. Please note that the counter must be manually updated, so you will not see an immediate change after you submitted your story!
