Grief: It’s not for everyone.

Until it is.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but guess what? Loss is inevitable.

The longer we live, the more we love, and the more connected we are, the greater our experience with grief will be. Like it or not, your season of grief will come.

And if you’re here, there’s a good chance you’re in it right now.

Here at the Forced Joy Project, we’re all about embracing the joy, even during times of grief. It’s about sitting in the shit and still being able to recognize a glimmer of hope. It’s about being vulnerable and brave enough to share in those moments with others.

Grief is personal. Grief is isolating. But that doesn’t mean it needs to be experienced alone.

The Forced Joy Project is a community of people who are willing to share and connect in both life's brightest and darkest moments. So grab a cup of tea (or a glass of bourbon - we won’t judge), and settle in.

Whether you’re grieving the loss of a person, a previous version of yourself, or your sanity, we get it. It’s hard. But we promise, joy still exists - even if it sometimes has to be forced. Life is too short to wait until tomorrow to find your joy. (Besides, by then you might be dead.)

Life is tough. Let’s force some joy.

Welcome. Thanks for being here. You are not alone.

Honor their life

Book of Stories

When we lose someone, stories are the greatest gift we are left with. By purchasing a Book of Stories, we will help you easily capture individual stories of your loved ones from friends and family. These stories will then be compiled into a keepsake book to read and share for generations to come.

Send support to someone grieving–a priceless gift to honor those they have lost.

you’re not alone

Stories of Grief

No matter who or how you are grieving, you are not alone. It is both powerful and healing in sharing our stories - especially our stories of grief, loss, and survival.

Read the personal stories of those who have been through it. From the loss of a parent, to death of a child, to a cancer diagnosis, and everything in between.
